Inmate Money Deposits and Visits

To send money to an inmate, you need the booking name, jail number, and facility number 233101. Deposit in person at kiosks in detention center lobbies. Kiosks accept cash. You can also use Touchpay online with a credit or debit card, or call Touchpay to deposit by phone. Inmates use these funds for commissary, phone calls, and self-bonding.

Miami-Dade uses remote video visits. You must be on the inmate's approved list. Personal visitors register online, create an account, and wait 24 hours before scheduling. Schedule at least one day ahead but not more than seven days in advance. Attorneys need two to three business days for approval. Follow all rules or lose visitation privileges.

Public Records Access

Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes is the Public Records Act. This law requires government agencies to provide access to most records. Jail records fall under this law. Section 945.10 lists exemptions for confidential information. Medical records, mental health files, and substance abuse treatment records cannot be released without consent. Victim statements and witness protection information stay confidential.

To request records not available online, contact Central Records in writing or by phone. The department reviews requests and provides cost estimates before producing records. You may need to pay fees for extensive searches or large volumes of documents.
