St. Petersburg does not have its own city jail. All inmates arrested in St. Petersburg are taken to the Pinellas County Jail at 14400 49th Street North in Clearwater, Florida 33762. For non-emergency questions about inmates, call (727) 464-6415. The jail is the 28th largest in the United States and is nationally accredited by detention and inmate healthcare professional associations.

The jail operates in three main divisions. The South Division, North Division, and Central Division each handle different inmate populations and security levels. The Support and Health Services Bureau provides medical care and support services. Inmates at the jail include pre-trial detainees, sentenced jail inmates, and prison-bound inmates awaiting transfer to state facilities. Colonel Paul Carey commands the jail operations.

Use the inmate locator at pinellassheriff.gov/who-is-in-jail to search for St. Petersburg inmates. Online information inquiries for persons booked into the Pinellas County Jail are available for persons currently incarcerated and persons released within the last 30 days. To find information on anyone released more than 30 days ago, you must request the roster through the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Records Request Portal.

The search tool lets you search by name, alias, booking date, or address. You can filter results by race, sex, docket number, agency, charge, or arrest type. This makes it easier to find the exact person you are looking for. If you know when someone was arrested, enter the booking date to narrow your search. If you only know the person's name, the system will return all matches in the current inmate population or within the last 30 days of releases.

For releases that happened more than 30 days ago, contact the Records Division at 10750 Ulmerton Road in Largo, FL 33778. You can request records in person, by mail, or online through the Records Request portal. Fees apply for copies, and certified reports have additional costs.

Video Visitation for St. Petersburg Inmates

Pinellas County Jail uses video visitation at the Jail Administration Support Building at 14500 49th Street North. You must schedule visits at visitation.pcsoweb.com/app up to two weeks in advance. Same-day visits are not available. For next-day visits, schedule before midnight. If you need help scheduling, call (727) 464-6842 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

You must be at least 18 years old to visit. Show a valid ID when you arrive. Adults must accompany anyone under 18. Follow the dress code, which prohibits obscene, offensive, or distracting clothing. Each visit lasts 40 minutes. Attorneys can use in-person visitation rooms near the front of the jail or unit visitation rooms upstairs. Confidential video visitations for attorneys are usually available within 24 hours.

Clerk of Court Records Search

The Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court website offers free case searches with no login required. You can search by individual's name, case number, attorney name, or calendar date. Case categories include Circuit Civil, County Civil, County Ordinance, Criminal Traffic, Domestic Relations, Felony, Guardianship, Juvenile Delinquency, Juvenile Dependency, Mental Health, Misdemeanor, Municipal Ordinance, Non Criminal Infraction, Parking Ticket, Probate, Small Claims, and Traffic Infraction.

Note that mental health, probate, guardianship, juvenile, and domestic relations cases do not show up in public results due to confidentiality laws. For copies of public case files, visit the Clerk's office at 14250 49th Street North, 4th Floor, Clearwater, FL 33762. Copy fees are one dollar per page plus two dollars for certification if needed.
